Description
This handsome marginal plant from Asia is a splendid sight at the water’s edge when grown in groups of 6-10 plants. It is sometimes known as the water gladiolus because of the attractive bi-coloured flowers, 2.5cm (1in) across and gathered in a distinctive umbel at the top of stems which are taller than the long, narrow leaves. It is happiest right at the edge of the pond where it can dip its toes in shallow water. The rhizomes, used in its native region for making flour, spread vigorously and plants should be divided regularly or flowering may decline. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Arrived quickly, was packaged beautifully and all the plants were just great ♥ Like lots of people I got the bright idea to build a “Loch Down” during these weird times without having a clue what I was doing and the instructions that came with the plants were so clear and helpful. Very happy with the plant health and size. The instructions were great. Only downside would be that it came in a normal pot and I was expecting it to be an aquatic pot

Thank you for your review, the reason we grow in fully recyclable pots and not aquatic plastic pots is we try to encourage you to plant direct in your pond using pea gravel and stones to hold in place until established avoiding plastic.
